How to make notes for CSS?

HOW TO MAKE NOTES FOR CSS/PMS

One of the first question that haunts many of the CSS/PMS aspirants is notes making so today I am going to explain how you should make your notes.

1. NOTES SHOULD BE BRIEF

Notes should not be of the same length as the source that you are reading. They should be written in short hand.

2. NOTES SHOULD NOT BE IN PARAGRAPH FORM

Notes should always be in the form of short bullet points

3. ALWAYS MAKE YOUR OWN NOTES

You should always use your own notes and make your own notes because when you use someone else’s notes, you will not be able to understand half of the things and you will also not be able to expand on some of the things as notes are always brief and reading someone else’s notes might be bad for your understanding. Another benefit of making the notes yourself is that you can improve your handwriting while doing so and also memorize some of the things while making notes.

4. USE KEY WORDS

You should use key words and jargons of the subject in your notes. They are very essential to boost your score. Key words help in your recall ability too.

5. What should be included for a particular topic in your notes?

A History/Causes

B Effects

C Solutions/way forward

D Your own opinion

E Critical analysis

F Current situation in the world and current situation in Pakistan

6. Facts, quotes, references, subject jargons all are a cherry on top

I made two types of notes.

  1. Long notes - for explanations and learning
  2. Short notes - for memorizing and revision

How to Make Long Notes?

  1. Do not copy the entire source in your notes
  2. Make headings with explanations
  3. Use your own words as far as possible
  4. For technical language, you may copy the words
  5. Always try to understand things rather than simply cramming things. If you have this mindset while notes making, you will make good ones
  6. Include quotes, facts, explanations, examples, references in your long notes

How to Make Short Notes?

  1. Short notes should be so brief and compact that a 50 pages chapter should fit onto 1 or half a page
  2. Just write the headings in the short notes
  3. Short notes are like outlines of the entire chapters
  4. Make short notes keeping in mind their purpose i.e. to revise the whole course within an hour or two
